Surakarta Map The Point Of Potential Fire Facing Kemarau, One Of Them TPA Putri Cempo

JAKARTA - The Surakarta City Government (Pemkot) has mapped the potential for fires and drought in the midst of extreme heat lately.

Head of the Surakarta City Environment Agency (DLH) Kristiana Hariyati said that one of the points that was wary of a fire occurred at the Putri Cempo TPA. Related to this, his party has taken anticipatory steps.

"We minimize the potential for fire piles of garbage at the TPA by routinely spraying water so that it doesn't suddenly catch fire," he said in Solo, Central Java, Thursday, October 3, which was confiscated by Antara.

On the other hand, the Head of the Surakarta City Fire Department, Sutarjo, said that his party had also alerted officers for 24 hours to be faster in handling the fire disaster.

"In addition, we also routinely check hydrants at a number of points in Solo so that extinguishing efforts are more effective during fires," said Sutarjo.

He also reminded the public not to burn garbage carelessly because it has the potential to cause a bigger fire.

"The findings of empty land fires in the next district are usually due to the remains of burning garbage," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Surakarta City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Nico Agus Putranto said he was still preparing a number of disaster management equipment, such as portable water reservoirs.

"So far there have been no findings, but drought preparedness is still active today. We are still on standby for the team to monitor drought-prone areas in Solo," he said.
