Jabodebek LRT Users Increase By 23 Percent In The Third Quarter Of 2024
JAKARTA - PT Kerarata Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that Jabodebek LRT users from July to September or the third quarter of 2024 reached 5,968,184 people.
This number increased by 23 percent compared to the second quarter of 2024.
The Manager of Public Relations of the Jabodebek LRT, Mahendro Trang Bawono, said the increase in the number of Jabodebek LRT users was also reflected in the average daily user.
Mahendro said, on weekdays in the third quarter, KAI recorded 77,251 Jabodebek LRT users per day, up 12.1 percent compared to an average of 68,935 users per day in the second quarter.
"When compared to the first quarter, the increase reached 47 percent of the average 52,379 users per day," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 2.
As for the weekend, KAI served an average of 33,350 Jabodebek LRT users in the third quarter, an increase of 9.4 percent compared to Quarter II with 32,315 users, and an increase of 43 percent compared to the first quarter which recorded 24,771 users per weekend.
In addition to achieving in the third quarter, Mahendro said positive performance was also seen in September 2024.
During this month, KAI served 1,953,095 Jabodebek LRT users, with the average daily user on weekdays reaching 80,015 users, an increase of 5 percent compared to August which recorded 76,044 users per day.
"While the average weekend user in September reached 35,279 users, up 1 percent compared to August which recorded 34,982 users," he explained.
In terms of operations, continued Mahendro, KAI continues to optimize services with an increase in the number of trips.
In the third quarter, the Jabodebek LRT operated 22,540 trips on Sunday, up 32 percent from 17,024 trips on weekday the second quarter, and up 40 percent from 16,128 trips on Sunday in the first quarter.
"Operational time coincidences also showed significant improvements, reaching 98 percent in the third quarter, an increase from 97.7 percent in the second quarter and 94.2 percent in the first quarter," he said.
In addition, he continued, the number of travel disruptions was successfully suppressed with 1,375 disturbances recorded in the third quarter, a decrease from 2,471 disruptions in the second quarter and 2,556 disruptions in the first quarter.
In terms of operations in September, KAI operated an average of 355 Jabodebek LRT trips per day on weekdays and 260 on weekends, with timeliness reaching 98.31 percent.
In terms of commercial cooperation, he continued, KAI also noted important achievements by establishing strategic partnerships for naming rights at two stations, namely Pancoran Station bank bjb and Dukuh Atas Station BNI.
"In addition, KAI also displays special branding on several Jabodebek LRT train liverys to increase the visibility of commercial partner brands and increase income outside of passenger transportation," he said.

To maximize services, he continued, KAI also provides free drinking water facilities at stations that users can enjoy.
In addition, KAI has introduced the Crowd Detection System, a technology that allows users to view in real-time density at each trainset and station.
