Body On The Edge Of The Jakarta-Merak Toll Road, Murder Victim, Intention To Robb Sugar

TANGERANG - Police arrested five perpetrators of the murder of a sugar truck driver whose body was found on the side of the Merak-Jakarta Toll Road KM 77B, Kasemen, Serang City.

The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Didik Hariyanto, said that the victim named Karjiko was executed on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at around 21.30 WIB.

He explained that the murder incident was revealed after the police received reports from residents regarding the discovery of the body of a man on the side of the Merak-Jakarta Toll Road KM 77B Kasemen, Serang City.

"The body was injured due to violent sharp objects, which were found in the left and right chests that penetrated the lungs and wounds in the neck hit the blood vessels, as well as bruises on the head area. The violence was allegedly carried out by an unknown person," said Didik, Wednesday, October 2.

The victim was then taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Banten Police for post-mortem.

"The discovery of the body was taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Banten Police for the identification and post-mortem process and an autopsy was carried out," he said.

The results of the crime scene (TKP) found a number of irregularities. On that basis, the police moved quickly to search and check a number of CCTVs at the scene. The results revealed the identity of the perpetrators, then an arrest was made.

"Based on the results of the investigation, the perpetrator was a specialist recidivist in vehicle embezzlement with the initials BN (53), who was arrested in Bogor Regency. In addition, we also managed to arrest two perpetrators with the initials RR (56), FR (51), and HD (33), in the Cilamaya area, Subang Regency," he said.

Based on the information of the perpetrators, the murder began when the perpetrators boarded a truck carrying 700 sacks of sugar weighing about 35 kilograms, which was driven by Karjiko to Jakarta.

Arriving at the location, one of the perpetrators asked to stop on the side of the road with the excuse of urinating. When the victim was careless, the perpetrator immediately smothered him with a sarong to the victim's mouth.

"One of the perpetrators pretended to urinate, climbed back into the truck and immediately stabbed the victim using a knife in turn," he said.

"The bribe hit the victim's neck and chest. After being confirmed dead, the body was covered with a red towel and his mouth was covered with a sarong and then dumped at the TKP (toll road edge)," he continued.

The perpetrators brought the sugar truck to be sold to collectors who had communicated with the previous perpetrators.

"FR acts as the executor by covering the victim's mouth and slashing the face on the victim's forehead and covering the body that had died with a towel. BN plays a role in stabbing the victim with a knife to death. RR and WH act as collectors of crime, and HD acts as looking for rental cars and helping to carry the truck," he said.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 338 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of the death penalty.
