Lauryn Hill Sued By Fugees Personnel For Cancellation Of World Tours
JAKARTA - Lauryn Hill was sued by a member of Fugees, Pras Michél, on suspicion of fraud. The lawsuit was filed in New York's Southern District on Tuesday, October 1 local time.
The alleged fraud was based on the cancellation of this year's Fugees world tour, so-called Michél has been sabotaged by Lauryn Hill's "rooms" and "sensitivity".
It is known that Hill and Fugees are scheduled to start their world tour in August in Tampa, Florida, and will continue their journey around the United States until September 21. The tour continues in the UK and Europe in October.
However, three days before the schedule for the first show, the hip hop group canceled the tour without an official explanation.
According to the lawsuit filed, Michél alleges that the Fugees tour in 2023 would be a huge commercial success, given ticket sales early.
But Hill is considered to have mismanaged the regulation, marketing, and tour budgeting. Michél claims that it is a covert and cunning attempt to reap big profits for himself.
Furthermore, the lawsuit also said that the schedule for the Fugees concert in 2023 had to be postponed due to serious vocal disorders experienced by Hill. And this year's tour was canceled due to "severe mismanagement".
Michél's lawsuit also claims that the trio was offered $5 million to appear at Coachella, but Hill allegedly turned down the offer after learning that they would not be placed as the main artist.

" Hill's group was shown again when he unilaterally rejected a $5 million offer (to play at Coachella)," the lawsuit said, citing Variety, Wednesday, October 2.
"The reason is that his ego was hurt because the No Doubt group accepted the main offer for The Fugees on the night of their show. Hill never told Pras about the offer or that he had rejected it. Pras only found out when it was too late, after Hill, I with astonishing arrogance, asked Pras if he agreed to perform some Fugees songs for free as a concert opener for his son, YG Marley, who was scheduled to appear at the same Coachella festival.
Michél also claimed that the reunion tour was submitted by Hill after his solo tour failed. He allegedly needed Michél and Wyclef Jean as a way to increase ticket sales.
