As A Result Of Following Google Maps, Tronton Driver Hits Big Tree In Pulogadung
JAKARTA - A tronton truck containing spare parts of a car and motorbike with police number B 9831 GB had a single accident crashing into a large 10 meter high tree on Jalan Balai Pustaka, Rawamangun, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, Tuesday morning, October 1.
A large tree trunk and branch fell when they were hit by the full container truck. The large tree fell on the head of the tronton truck.
The accident occurred when the tronton truck driver drove to the left lane because he was walking on the Google Maps route.
According to Ucu's statement, the container truck driver did not see if there were large tree trunks and branches on the side of the road because he was busy looking at Google Maps.
"Because they follow (Google) maps. They follow the map and continue to stick to the left, there is a tree stuck," Ucu told reporters at the scene, Tuesday, October 1.
The incident was then reported to the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. to evacuate felling fallen trees. The reason is, the container truck that was hit by a tree could not continue its journey because it was hit by a large tree branch.
After arriving at the location, the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. rescue officer evacuated tree cutting by deploying 1 team. The evacuation lasted 2 hours.

The leaves and twigs of the large trees also blocked access roads, causing congestion. The officer also cut the tree trunk using a chainsaw.
"Coming from Tanjung Priuk to Rawamangun. The truck contains spare parts of motorbikes and cars," he said.
There were no fatalities in the tronton truck accident. However, the truck was badly damaged.
The head of the Fire Team, Arief Firmansyah, said that the container incident hit a large tree at the intersection of Balai Pustaka Street, the truck driver seemed hesitant to continue the journey.
"He went left to ask questions but the driver didn't see a large tree on the left, finally the car hit a tree until it fell. The tree hit the head of the container truck. The driver and kenek survived, there were no casualties," he said.
