Contribution Of Indonesian Fertilizer To Weightlifting: Produce Olympic Gold Medals

The gold medal is the first in the history of participating in Indonesian weightlifting at the Olympics event since 1952.

Since 2022 or three years ago Pupuk Indonesia has supported the development and development of weightlifting athletes through the implementation of the Youth and Adult Weightlifting Championships. Recently, Pupuk Indonesia held the U15 - U17 Youth Weightlifting Championship Pupuk Indonesia 2024 in Bandung, from 1 to 4 August 2024. There were hundreds of athletes from various competing provinces. Next in October, Pupuk Indonesia also held a National Championship for Juniors in Solo.

"Through this National Championship, it is hoped that it will be able to bring out new athletes who excel from various regions. This is also a form of support for Pupuk Indonesia for the sustainability or regeneration of weightlifting achievements in Indonesia," concluded Wijaya.

The lifter who managed to donate the Olympic gold medal was Rizki Juniansyah. He managed to win a gold medal in the men's 73 kg weightlifting match. The 21-year-old lifter finished the match with a total lift of 354 kg in the form of a snatch of 155 kg and a clean & jerk of 199 kg. Rizki's weight also broke the record for the Olympic clean & jerk.

Rizki is the lifter for the 2023 Pupuk Indonesia Senior Weightlifting National Championship (Kejurnas) together with Nurul Akmal and Eko Yuli Irawan who are also fostered by Pupuk Indonesia as well as representing Indonesia at the Paris Olympics. It is hoped that Rizki's achievements will also motivate other weightlifters in Indonesia to fight and excel at the national and international levels.
