Pickpocket When MotoGP Race Parade In Mataram Arrested, Apparently Jukir Is Official

The pickpocket who took action during the 2024 MotoGP racer parade in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, revealed that a parking attendant (jukir) was officially registered in the transportation service.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mataram Police, Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama, said that the pickpocket with the initials NU (54) from Banjar Village, Ampenan District was revealed from the results of the examination.

"So, the perpetrator has admitted that he is an official jukir registered in the transportation service. He took action when he saw the victim being careless," said Yogi, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 26.

The arrest of NU took place when police officers who were securing the 2024 MotoGP racer parade at Taman Teras Udayana, Wednesday (25/9), saw the perpetrator's action wearing a blue vest with the transportation service logo approaching the target.

"When they were about to take action, the perpetrators were immediately withdrawn by our members and immediately secured," he said.

From the results of the investigation, the police found a number of evidences that were suspected to have been stolen by NU belonging to six parade visitors.

"The location of the perpetrators in action is two locations, it's in Sangkareang Park, NU gets two wallets containing complete identities and cash. In Udayana Terrace there is a red Samsung Galaxy a03 cellphone, and two wallets filled with cash and complete identity, as well as a goodie bag bag," he said.

The police have named NU as a suspect suspected of violating Article 362 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of theft.

"We have detained the person concerned at the Mataram Police Detention Center," said Yogi.
