Last Working Meeting As Minister Of Defense At The DPR, Prabowo Receives Sun Flower From Golkar

JAKARTA - Defense Minister (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto received a sunflower bouquet while attending the last Working Meeting at Commission I of the DPR.

The flower bouquet was given by a member of Commission I of the DPR as well as a politician from the Golkar Party, Nurul Arifin after each faction read out their final opinion regarding the Draft Law on Cooperation in the Defense Sector.

Initially, representatives of the faction took turns submitting the faction's view document to Prabowo who is also the President-elect in 2024.

However, when it was the turn of the Golkar Party faction, the submission of the document was followed by the giving of a sun interest bouquet to Prabowo.

After giving flowers, Nurul then shook hands with Prabowo and continued with the photo together.

After the meeting, the Chairman of Commission I of the DPR as well as Golkar politician Meutya Hafid explained the reason for his party to give Prabowo a sunflower bouquet. He prayed that the General Chairperson of Gerindra would become a leader who would benefit the Indonesian people.

"Sun flowers are bright in the world, the benefits are good for many people. So earlier the Golkar faction gave sunlight not only because of the yellows but God willing, it can be a benefit for many people like the sun," said Meutya.

Meutya said the giving of sunlight was a symbol of the separation of Commission I of the DPR with the Minister of Defense. It is known that Prabowo will be sworn in as president of the Republic of Indonesia on October 20.

"As a sign of farewell and also a prayer in the future he can shine like the sun," he said.

For information, the discussion of this meeting is level I discussions on the five Defense Division Cooperation Bills.

Nine or all factions approved the bill to be brought to level II talks or plenary meetings to be ratified into law.

The meeting was held openly and was also attended by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas, Deputy Minister of Defense Muhammad Herindra and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pahala Nugraha Mansury.

Meanwhile, apart from Meutya is Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Gerindra Faction Sugiono, Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the PDIP Faction Utut Adianto, Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the PKS Faction Abdul Kharis Almasyhari.
