Heavy Is The Crown, Linkin Park's New Song For League Of Legends World Championship 2024

JAKARTA - Linkin Park launched its newest single with the title Heavy is the Clown. This song is the second release after the joining of Emily Armstrong as a new vocalist.

Heavy is the Clown following the previous single, "The Employness Machine", which was released on September 5. Both songs are material for the album "From Zero" which will officially be played to the public on November 15.

Heavy is the Clown became a special song, because Riot Games was chosen as an anthem for the League of Legends World Championship 2024.

This song follows NewJeans' 'GODS' which became the anthem League of Legends World Championship in the previous year.

Linkin Park frontman Mike Shinoda said his collaboration with Riot Games was important, both for the band and the game world.

"Being Riot's partner to bring this anthem to the global community League of Legends is a great experience for us," said Mike Shinoda in his statement, Wednesday, September 25.

This song is really an important part of our new era, combining our distinctive sounds with fresh energy. We are so excited that fans and players can feel it too," he continued.

Meanwhile, Maria Egan as the Global Head of Music Riot Games said Linkin Park's involvement was a big moment, considering that World's Anthem is in the world's spotlight and is eagerly awaited by League of Legends players.

"When the band entered an exciting new chapter, we were honored to be able to be with them for this year's anthem. The lyrics of 'Heavy Is The Crown' are so perfect to describe this year's Worlds narrative and are perfect for the theme of our music video," said Maria Egan.

Linkin Park's heavy is the Clown can already be heard on various digital music platforms. The music video can also be enjoyed through the YouTube League of Legends channel.
