Floor Inc North Sulawesi Implementation Of Hip-Hop Music In The Album Microphone Checka Volume #1
JAKARTA - Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia, through the Floor Inc sublabel, which focuses on urban, electronic, and hip-hop genres, continues to present works from talented musicians. Recently, Floor Inc collaborated with the label EVERYDAYINDO and USS Networks is ready to release a hip-hop album entitled Microphone Checka Volume #1.
This album contains nine tracks from nine musicians who each have their own strengths and colors. They are AB Mukacino "I'm Not Playing", FALLEN "T "It's Story", Emirgency "South Children's Batik", By A Febby "Microphone", Tacticalopsm "East Jakarta", Styphth "Hard Mode", Almamosca Oh Marsinah, Wiarthajaya "My Shot", and Ongker "Feel the Vibe.
Head of A&R from the Floor Inc label, Wisnu Wicaksana or who is familiarly called Oeboer, revealed that the Floor Inc sublabel welcomed their first collaboration with EVERYDAYINDO and the USS Networks. This #1 Microphone Checka Volume itself is seen by Oeboer as a relevant step from Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia in order to help local hip-hop musicians grow and expand their music.
From the trend of music in the country and globally, the hip-hop genre is currently increasingly known in the Indonesian music industry. Apart from experiencing rapid developments, many new talents have emerged in the local hip-hop arena spread throughout Indonesia. This indicates that this genre is growing and Floor Inc as a label that focuses on the area wants to help them and become a forum so that these musicians can continue working," said Vishnu in a written press release.
According to Fauzan Lubis, or better known as Ojan Sisitipsi, the idea of making this album was sparked by the idea of Rulionzzo (Boyz Got No Brain), which is one of the performers of the 90s hip-hop compilation album. From this idea, Ojan as a musician who was already interested in the rise of hip-hop music in that period finally executed this idea until a collaboration was formed between Floor Inc, EVERYDAYINDO, and USS Networks. The musicians who were selected to fill this album were proposed by the EVERYDAYINDO team in collaboration with the USS Jakarta 2023 event, namely the NIC CHECK finalists who appeared at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan on November 4, 2023.
This compilation material is indeed taking a little time. However, we are grateful that the process is quite easy and fun. Given that the musicians who fill this album are spread across various regions, we also rely on technology at this time in communicating, discussing, listening to the results of the demonstration," said Ojan.
Of the nine tracks, the Floor Inc team chose three songs as focus tracks, namely Ongker's Feel The Vibe, s a Story from FALLENT, and Oh Marsinah by Immosca.

Judging from the salient power of the lyrics and in terms of music production, all three have an attraction from the commercial side. However, of course, all the songs on this album deserve to be heard because they have gone through a fairly rigorous screening process and are the best of the best," explained Oeboer.
The album fillers were obtained through online auditions held by the EVERYDAYINDO, Floor Inc, and USS Networks teams. Of the total 200 materials collected, all were curated directly by Iwa K, Xaqhala, and Rulionzzo until they collected nine finalists who appeared at the Mic Check USS at the JCC Senayan.
The process of working on this album itself took three months since the competition was held. Regarding its different locations, challenges certainly exist in the communication factor. However, all parties believe that there is a difference that will create harmony even if it is in different environments and work systems. As a result, a compilation album Microphone Checka Volume #1 was born.
The presence of a compilation project through these three collaborators is expected to encourage hip-hop music to become one of the popular genres. The main goal of this collaboration is that we want to bring hip-hop music into music that can dominate again in the Indonesian music industry. This happened in the 1993 to 2003 era and it is very likely that this will happen again," said Ojan.
The compilation album hip-hop Floor Inc, EVERYDAYINDO, and USS Networks entitled Microphone Checka Volume #1 can be heard on digital music platforms starting September 25.
