KPU Does Not Set 8 Paslons In The 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada
The regional General Election Commission (KPU) did not determine eight candidates as pairs of candidates for regional heads in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections because they did not meet the requirements.
This was conveyed by KPU member August Mellaz. Some of those who did not qualify have filed a dispute lawsuit with the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu).
"Of the total 1,561 pairs of candidates who registered with the KPU, both at the provincial level, then to KPU regencies/cities, both provincial and district-city levels, have determined 1,553 candidate pairs," Mellaz said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 23.
"Especially for 8 candidate pairs, of course there is room to carry out the next legal process to the Election Supervisory Body," he continued.

The following is a list of areas where the 8 candidates for regional head will not be determined by the local KPU:
1. Pilkada Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh;
2. Pilkada Sabang City, Aceh;
3. Pilkada Subulussalam City, Aceh;
4. Pilkada North Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra (There is a lawsuit in Bawaslu);
5. Pilkada Empat Lawang Regency, South Sumatra;
6. South Bengkulu Regency Pilkada (There is a lawsuit in Bawaslu);
7. Pilkada Parigi Moutong Regency, Sulawesi (There is a lawsuit in Bawaslu);
8. North Gorontalo Regency Pilkada (There is a lawsuit in Bawaslu).
