Ask Jakarta Pilgub Paslon To Pay Attention To Artists, DKJ With Certainty Appears Through Regional Regulations

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ) hopes that the candidate pair for the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election can pay attention and commitment to preserving and prospering regional artists.

Deputy Chairman 1 of the Jakarta Arts Council Hasan Aspahani hopes that the three major points of Jakarta cagub-cawagub commitment in the arts are commitments to the implementation of cultural endowment funds, regulatory support, and institutional strengthening.

"If it is supported by stronger regulations (perda and pergub), not just artists who are good. But for Jakarta. It is impossible for Jakarta to become a global city if the culture is still being carried out as it is today," Hasan said at a press conference on the Public Dialogue of Art with Candidates for Governor and Candidates for Deputy Governor 2024 at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Monday.

In the final session of each candidate pair dialogue, DKJ as the organizer provided cultural strategy documents containing findings from DKJ and the arts community.

With this document, it is hoped that the cagub-cawagub can find out and help provide solutions to these findings.

On the same occasion, the Daily Chair of the Jakarta Arts Council, Bambang Prihadi, also said that this was also his goal in initiating the event.

He said the event was one of the efforts of the DKJ so that local governments could also help improve arts in Jakarta.

"The government or the leaders of Jakarta, like it or not, must be actively involved. And not only at the administrative level or who see art only as the main thing. The mindset must be changed, because the art is inseparable from our lives," said Bambang.

Bambang also hopes that the event can be a routine event held every five years before the Pilkada.
