The Kremlin Calls The West Obsessed With The War Against Russia Until Ukraine Runs Out Of Troops

JAKARTA - The West is "obsessed" with the idea of fighting Russia until Ukraine runs out of troops, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

That was conveyed by Peskov commenting on the latest statement by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, there is no need to be afraid to use Western weapons to attack deep inside Russia.

"They are obsessed with the idea of fighting us to the last Ukraine. This Obsession manifests differently, depending on the person. With Stoltenberg, it happens like this," Peskov explained, quoted from TASS September 23.

According to the spokesman, Stoltenberg made such a statement because he is the secretary general of NATO who will soon step down.

"He will soon stop working where he works. That's the reason, basically, why he let himself make such irresponsible statements," Peskov said.

The spokesman expressed regret that some people in Europe had the same opinion as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"Unfortunately, I think his attitude is also embraced by many people in Europe. We have heard many ridiculous narratives from Europe stating there is no need to be afraid of Russia or Putin and there is no need to take them seriously," Peskov said.

Stoltenberg previously said NATO would not be part of the conflict in Ukraine if it allowed Kyiv to attack Russian territory with Western weapons.

President Putin then mentioned a discussion on NATO about whether to allow Ukraine to use Western weapons to attack Russia as a replacement for concepts. He said, in fact, the problem was much more serious: NATO member countries basically decided whether to engage directly in the Ukraine conflict or not.

Peskov further said there were people "clear thinking" in the West who analyzed and understood President Putin's warning about responding to long-range attacks.

"There are still people who are clear-minded who analyze the words of our president with full attention and understand what is really meant," Peskov said.

He added that Russia saw no other alternative to its victory in a special military operation.

"Historically, there has never been any other alternative for Russia. There is no other alternative to our victory right now," he said.

"The war is ongoing. They are at war with us. They are fighting with us collectively. We have a collective enemy in front of us. They openly say that their goal is to strategically and tactically defeat Russia," Peskov explained.

"This requires us to treat their position very seriously, to align our actions with this danger and to continue special military operations to achieve all of our goals, to fulfill all our tasks and to achieve our own victory."
