Magic Mushroom Supplier To Gili Trawangan Bar Turns Out To Have A Store Named Idamart
The NTB Police dismantled a network of magic mushrooms or cow tag mushrooms that can provide hallucinatory effects for its users in Gili Trawangan, North Lombok Regency.
Director of the NTB Police Narcotics Investigation, Kombes Deddy Supriadi, said that from the disclosure of this circulating network, his party had arrested and legally processed six suspects ranging from a seller at a bar in Gili Trawangan to a supplier role.
"Lastly, we arrested the initials IA. Based on the evidence and testimony of witnesses, experts, letters, and field instructions, it was revealed that the role of IA as the owner of a shop named Idamart who peddles and supplies magic mushrooms to a bar in Gili Trawangan," he said during the release of the case in Mataram, Antara, Wednesday, September 18.
He recounted that the magic mushrooms distribution network was revealed from the arrests of MRF and MY at a bar in the Gili Trawangan area in February 2024.
At that time, he said, the NTB Police confiscated dozens of plastics containing processed magic mushrooms packages. Both of them who worked in the bar were revealed as processed drinks made from cow waste mushrooms.
"MRF and MY are selling processed drinks from magic mushrooms at Gili Trawangan bar named Mr. Bean," he said.
From the development of the legal process for MRF and MY, the police got the roles of two other people with the initials AZ and R and managed to arrest them in April 2024.
"The role of AZ and R is as the manager of the bar where MRF and MY work. They both put the magic mushrooms into the merchandise menu at the bar," he said.
From AZ and R's legal process, it was revealed the role of O who is Idamart's cashier. He is an intermediary who sells IA's magic mushrooms.
"From O's statement, this then strengthens the evidence for us to arrest IA, which is our target operation in the distribution of magic mushrooms in Gili Trawangan," he said.
Regarding the origins of IA getting the goods and selling them in Gili Trawangan, Deddy ensured that he did not cultivate them independently, but instead got them from the Central Lombok area.
Deddy said the legal process for the six suspects in the circulation of the goods in Gili Trawangan is still ongoing at the investigation stage. Investigators have detained all of them at the NTB Police Detention Center.
Investigators have named six suspects by applying Article 114 paragraph (1) and/or Article 111 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
