Those Who Buy A Little, Fiat Stop Production 500e One Month
JAKARTA - Bad news came from the Italian automotive brand, Fiat. The brand had to temporarily stop the production of 500e electric vehicles for one month starting September 13 due to low demand.
Reportedly Autocar, Friday, September 13, the parent company of this brand, Stellantis said that the decline in sales of electric vehicles was not only experienced by its manufacturers, but also all automotive manufacturers in Europe.
According to data from Jato Dynamics, Fiat managed to sell 74,885 units of the 500 model in both gasoline and electric engine technology across the blue continent between January and late July or less 24 percent compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the segment of electric vehicles in Europe decreased to 13.5 percent, down from 14.6 percent in July last year.
This is due not without reason. The cause of this problem is due to lack of clarity about incentives and the future of EVs continues to be a challenge for consumers to consider electric vehicle models.

With the slow sale of the 500e model and the production of 500 versions of gasoline coming to an end, it encourages manufacturers from this pizza country to push the latest 500 Ibida.
The model will use a base of 500e equipped with a fused millid-hybrid gasoline engine that serves as a very important support for this Italian brand in navigating the transition to electric vehicles slower than expected.
Fiat CEO Olivier Francois, said that this phenomenon occurs beyond estimates from all parties so that it must accept the fact that the move towards electrification is completely slow.
We cannot predict that Covid, a shortage of raw materials, and some Europeans ignoring sustainable solutions will actually happen. This is the reality," said Francois.
In addition to introducing 500 versions of the mid-hybrid, Fiat will also invest as much as 100 million euros (Rp1,708 trillion) for the development of new batteries for 500e which is expected to increase coverage and reduce costs significantly.
