Motorcyclists In South Tangerang Become Victims Of Fake Police Fraud

TANGERANG - The motorcyclist with the initials MHS is suspected of being a victim of fraud by a man who claims to be a member of the police. As a result, a Honda Beat motorcycle belonging to the victim was taken away by the perpetrator.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indardi said the incident occurred in the BSD Square area on Jalan Captain Djojohadikusumo, Serpong, South Tangerang, Thursday, September 12, at 12.47 WIB.

"Losses 1 unit of a black Beat motorcycle in 2014, 1 mobile Realme C25 S Color Silver, 1 Oppo Reno 3 Black Cellphone," said Ade Ary in his statement, Friday, September 13.

Ade Ary explained that the incident began when the victim was carrying his motorbike and was stopped by a man claiming to be a member of the police wearing a uniform.

He said that the victim did not have complete documents, so firm action was taken by the perpetrators.

"The reported person who claimed to be a police officer dressed in police uniform said that the motorbike belonging to the complainant did not have a complete vehicle certificate," he said.

Furthermore, the perpetrator brought the victim's vehicle on the grounds that it was used as evidence.

"The reason will be used as evidence," he said.

At that time the victim did not fight against the perpetrator.

Until finally the victim realized that he was a victim of fake police fraud. The victim finally reported to the Serpong Police.

"This case is handled by the South Tangerang Police," he concluded.
