Electability Of 4 Candidates For West Java Governor's Version Of Indicator Survey: Dedi Mulyadi Unmatched

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute released a poll on the electability of prospective West Java Governors in the 2024 Pilkada.

As a result, Dedi Mulyadi as a candidate for governor who was promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) received the highest electability, amounting to 77.3 percent.

The difference in the number of Dedi's election with other candidates is quite far. Under Dedi, the second highest electability was Ahmad Syaikhu at 10.8 percent.

Then, Acep Adang Ruhiat received 2.2 percent electability and Jeje Wiradinata 2.1 percent. Meanwhile, respondents who did not know or did not answer were 7.7 percent.

"So, it's not very competitive, yes, so far," said the Executive Director of Indicators in a virtual survey presentation, Thursday, September 12.

Burhanuddin assessed that the unmatched electability of the former Purwakarta Regent on the West Java Pilkada exchange was motivated by its higher popularity rate than other candidates.

"Kang Dedi's popularity is almost 100 percent of West Java residents know and like," said Burhanuddin.

Dedi's electability in the same survey period has not changed significantly when compared to the simulation of 8 names containing the names of candidates for Deputy Governor of West Java.

In the 8-name simulation, Dedi obtained 74 percent electability, Ahmad Syaikhu 10.2 percent, Acep Adang 1.9 percent, Jeje 1.9 percent, Ilham Habibie 1.2 percent, Erwan Setiawan 0.7 percent, Ronal Surapradja 0.3 percent, Gitalis dwi 0.3 percent, others 0.1 percent, and did not know / did not answer 9.1 percent.

For information, this survey was conducted in the period 2-8 September 2024 with a total sample of 1,200 respondents who are residents of DKI Jakarta aged over 17 years or married.

The withdrawal of respondents was obtained through a simple random sampling technique with a margin of error of up to 2.9 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
