Inaugurated By The Minister Of Social Affairs, Gus Ipul Released The Position Of Mayor Of Pasuruan
JAKARTA - The newly appointed Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul, stated that he would leave his position as Mayor of Pasuruan, along with his inauguration as a cabinet member.
"As of today, I am also resigning as Mayor of Pasuruan, automatically that," said Gus Ipul after being sworn in as Minister of Social Affairs at the State Palace, Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 11.
He said he would immediately coordinate with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy as the previous Social Minister, including to follow the handover process.
Regarding his appointment as Social Minister, Gus Ipul considered this to be a trust given by the President to him.
He will assist the President in the remainder of this one month's administration, including preparing for the next transition of government related to the duties of the minister of social affairs.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated Saifullah Yusuf as the definitive Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) replacing Tri Rismaharini who is now advancing in the 2024 Pilkada contestation.
Saifullah Yusuf's inauguration was held at the State Palace in Jakarta at around 09.00 WIB, in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 102B 2024 concerning the Appointment of the Minister of Social Affairs for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet 2019-2024.

"By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of Dharma, my service to the nation and state," said Gus Ipul when taking the oath guided by President Jokowi.
In addition, Saifullah also promised to carry out his duties and uphold the ethics of his position, work well with a full sense of responsibility.
