Jokowi Officially Inaugurates Gus Ipul As Social Minister To Replace Risma
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul as the definitive Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) replacing Tri Rismaharani who is now advancing in the 2024 Pilkada contestation.
The inauguration of Syaifullah Yusuf was held at the State Palace in Jakarta at around 09.00 WIB, in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 102B 2024 concerning the Appointment of the Minister of Social Affairs for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet 2019-2024.
"By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of Dharma, my service to the nation and state," Yusuf said when taking the oath guided by President Jokowi.
In addition, Syaifullah also promised to carry out his duties and uphold the ethics of his position, work well with a full sense of responsibility.
Saifullah Yusuf or who is familiarly called Gus Ipul is a politician who currently serves as Mayor of Pasuruan. He also serves as Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU).
The man who was born in Pasuruan, East Java, August 28, 1964, served as Minister of Development of Disadvantaged Regions (PDT) in the first term of the reign of the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), then served as Deputy Governor of East Java for the 2009-2019 period.

Gus Ipul is the nephew of the fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur). He was a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDI-P faction in 1999, before finally deciding to join the National Awakening Party (PKB) in 2001.
Apart from the Minister of Social Affairs, there are two other officials who were also appointed by President Jokowi today, they are Inspector General of Police. Eddy Hartono as Head of BNPT and Aida Suwandi Budiman as a member of the LPS Board of Commissioners
