Prosecutor's Office Examines 6 Hours Of Central Sulawesi Bawaslu Secretary Regarding Corruption Of 2020 Gubernatorial Election Grant Funds

SULTENG - The Central Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) examined the Secretary of the Central Sulawesi Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding the alleged corruption of Central Sulawesi gubernatorial election grant funds in 2020.

"The suspect with the initials AS as Secretary of Bawaslu Central Sulawesi, was questioned on Monday (9 September) by the prosecutor for about six hours starting at 10.00 WITA to 15.00 WITA," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Attorney General's Office, Laode Abdul Sofyan in Palu City, Tuesday, September 10, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the suspect was questioned with 36 questions, related to the 2020 Central Sulawesi gubernatorial election grant.

"The suspect has not been detained because the investigation is still ongoing and the suspect is asked to submit several additional documents needed by investigators during the next examination," he said.

He revealed that all state financial losses in the Central Sulawesi Bawaslu case had been returned with a value of Rp907 million.

"Based on the results of the calculation of state losses by the auditor of the Central Sulawesi Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), this case caused the state to suffer a loss of approximately Rp900 million," he said.

He further put forward, the Central Sulawesi Bawaslu official has been named a suspect since July 25, 2024 by the Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office investigation team.
