Putri Kusuma Wardani Qualifies For The Taipei Open 2024 Final

JAKARTA - Indonesian women's singles, Putri Kusuma Wardani, managed to advance to the top of the BWF Super 300 Taipei Open 2024 tournament after defeating the host's representative, Chiu Pin-Chiang, in the semifinals. The match which took place on Saturday 7 September ended with Putri's victory through the rubber game with a score of 16-21, 21-16, 21-11.

Putri's success cannot be separated from the confidence she built after beating the top seed, Tai Tzu Ying, in the quarter-finals. Despite having struggled in the first game and having to give up with a score of 16-21, Putri managed to get up and improve her performance in the second game.

In the second game, Chiu Pin-Chiang still put up a strong fight, but Putri was able to overcome the pressure well. When the score drew at 13-13, Putri began to dominate the match by scoring six consecutive points, which led her to win the second game with a score of 21-16.

In the third game, Putri appeared more solid and confident. With a more controlled game, he managed to secure a victory with a score of 21-11, and secured a place in the Taipei Open 2024 final.

With this success, Putri became the second representative of Indonesia to qualify for the final. Previously, the women's doubles pair Jesita Putri Miantoro/Febi Setianingrum also managed to advance to the final after defeating the first seed from Thailand, Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard, through a tight rubber game with a score of 17-21, 21-9, 21-18.

Indonesia also has the opportunity to watch the All Indonesian Final in the women's doubles sector, if the Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi pair manages to win in the semifinal against the Thai pair, Lakika Kanlaha/Phataimas Muenwong. This match will determine whether Indonesia will have two representatives in the women's doubles final at the Taipei Open 2024.
