Former Atta Halilintar Guard Apologizes For Threats, Video Journalist Alliance: Useless

JAKARTA - The aftermath of the alleged threats made by former Bodyguard Atta Halilintar ended in a report made by the Alliance of Video Journalists on behalf of the reporter Christin Pratomo.

Previously, Agung, former Atta Halilintar's bodyguard had apologized to the media crew regarding his actions that threatened to kidnap him if his face was caught on camera.

However, the attorney for the Video Journalists Alliance, Deolipa Yumara, said that Agung's apology was useless when a criminal incident occurred.

"The KUHP does not know the word sorry, but there is a basis for forgiveness, so if a criminal incident occurs, people apologize for being useless if we have reported it to the police," said Deolipa Yumara at the South Jakarta Police, Thursday, September 5.

Therefore, Deolipa said that in this matter there is no word sorry for Agung in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Code.

"So there is no word sorry in the Criminal Code, but the basis for forgiveness is in the Criminal Procedure Code. Now this position is what we will use but this is not only the Criminal Code, this is the Press Law," he explained.

Previously, Deolipa Yumara said that the Video Journalist Alliance reported Agung to the police on suspicion of threats.

He reported Agung with allegations of threats and intimidation as well as violations of the Press Law

"So today, Thursday (September 5), from the Alliance of Video Journalists (AJV), the reporter is Christin Pratomo, he reported allegations of threats and intimidation as well as violations of the Press Law, according to the Criminal Code Article 336 Paragraph (1) and the press law, namely Article 18 number 40 of 1999," explained Deolipa.

"So what we are reporting is someone, allegedly named Agung (the organizer of Atta Halilintar), it was reported that there had been threats at the South Jakarta Police against the media crew," he said.

Seeing this, Atta Halilintar himself apologized for this incident and admitted that he had taken firm steps by firing Agung.

"He is neither part of my employee nor has a cooperation contract with me, but does like to play at our place. Once again apologize physically and mentally," he concluded.
