Bapanas Needs Additional Budget of IDR 20 Trillion to Distribute Food Aid in 2025

JAKARTA - The National Food Agency (Bapanas) requires an additional budget of IDR 20.22 trillion to distribute food aid in 2025. The aid consists of rice to eggs.

Bapanas Head Arief Prasetyo Adi said the budget will be used for several needs. First, for rice food aid for six months amounting to IDR 16.68 trillion.

"We are submitting this budget because the food aid program carried out last year and this year has not yet been approved by Commission IV of the House of Representatives (DPR)," he said in a meeting with Commission IV of the DPR, quoted on Thursday, September 5.

"So for the 2025 submission we propose for six months of stabilization in the form of rice food aid through Bulog IDR 16.68 trillion," he continued.

Then, continued Arief, a budget of IDR 834.1 billion will be used for the distribution of food aid programs in the form of chicken meat and eggs for six months.

Then, continued Arief, the distribution of rice for the stabilization of food supply and prices (SPHP) amounting to IDR 1.5 trillion. Furthermore, corn SPHP worth IDR 535 billion. Then, soybean reserves for SPHP amounted to IDR 637.8 billion.

Finally, continued Arief, food reserves for natural disasters and emergencies for the next one year amounted to IDR 37.9 billion. Meanwhile, additional budget for Bapanas regular activities amounted to IDR 589.5 billion.

If the proposed additional budget for Bapanas regular activities and also the distribution of CPP is calculated, the total additional budget proposed is IDR 20.8 trillion. Bapanas itself received an indicative ceiling for 2025 of IDR 329.9 billion.

"The indicative ceiling for the 2025 budget year is IDR 329.9 billion. We have prepared a draft of the 2025 activity program for the availability of access and consumption of quality food of IDR 212.89 billion, and a management support program of IDR 117.1 billion," he explained.
