Fugitive From Philippine Government Mayor Alice Arrested In Tangerang
JAKARTA - The Head of the International Relations Division (Kadiv Hubinter) of the National Police Inspector General Pol Krishna Murti confirmed that his party had arrested the former Mayor of Bamban, Philippines, Alice Guo who was a fugitive, in Tangerang.
"The arrests are the result of collaboration with Polda Metro Jaya and Polresta Bandung," Krishna said when contacted by media crews in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 4.
He said Alice's pursuit attempt was also part of a collaboration with the Philippine government.
Regarding the details of the information on Alice Guo's arrest, Khrisna asked the media crew to wait for further information.
Previously, the Philippine Ministry of Justice stated that Alice Guo, a former Mayor of Bamban, Philippines, who is a fugitive on charges of having ties to a Chinese criminal syndicate, had been arrested in Indonesia. The ministry said Alice Guo was arrested on Tuesday, September 3 in Tangerang.
"This development has been verified by our colleagues at Immigration who have confirmed that Alice Guo is currently under the custody of the Indonesian Police at the Jatanras Police Headquarters," the Philippine Department of Justice said in a statement.
Alice Guo, whose Chinese name is Guo Hua Ping, has become a fugitive from the Philippine Senate for refusing to attend a congressional investigation into her alleged criminal relationship with a Chinese criminal syndicate.
Philippine law enforcement agencies, including the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), jointly filed money laundering charges against Alice Guo and 35 others to the Philippine Department of Justice.

Previously, on August 26, 2024, Alice Guo was included in the DPO list of the Batam Immigration Office Class I Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) for successfully escaping to Jakarta.
