JAKARTA - The candidate for governor of Jakarta, Ridwan Kamil visited the Betawi Museum, Setu Babakan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 4, morning. RK came warmly welcomed by the Governor of Jakarta 2007-2012 Fauzi Bowo.

RK arrived at the location at around 09.45 WIB wearing a koko shirt complete with a cream vest and a black cap.

When he arrived, RK immediately kissed Fauzi Bowo's hand. The man who is familiarly called Foke then accompanied RK around the Betawi Museum and Setu Babakan using a mini electric car.

"Alhamdulillah, today I am grateful to be able to stay in touch with important people who if destined to become leaders in Jakarta," said Foke to RK.

Foke said he would introduce Betawi culture and Jakarta history to RK in this meeting.

"Bang Emil already knows Jakarta. Maybe he knows Bandung better than he knows Jakarta. But I have an obligation to bring whoever will become the leader of Jakarta closer to the reality in Jakarta," said Foke.

For Foke, Jakarta's history is extraordinary. He said, Jakarta is the most historic city for Indonesia.

"Jakarta's history is extraordinary. No city in Indonesia has a bigger role in the history of this nation than Jakarta. Starting from the awakening of the nation," explained Foke.

"Then the next is the Youth Pledge. Everything is in Jakarta. Then the struggle for independence is also in Jakarta. The 1945 Constitution is also in Jakarta. Until the proclamation itself. And after that there are still developments in this nation which are pushed from Jakarta as the capital city, until finally the capital city is moved to the archipelago," he concluded.
