Combing Pope Francis' Route Route, Police Find Nails To Iron Breaks

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya is sweeping nail mines on the path that will be passed by the leader of the World Catholic Church, Pope Francis. The goal is to ensure that the group or convoy does not experience problems.

Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director Kombes Latif Usman said the sweeping of nail mines started from Off Ramp Semanggi, B5, the Horse Statue roundabout, IRTI, to the front of the Accommodation or route to the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area.

"The iron shards, pieces of nails and iron powder were found that could endanger motorists," Latif said in his statement, Wednesday, September 4.

The sweeping of nail mines was carried out on Tuesday, September 3. The activity also involved dozens of personnel from the nail mine community.

In addition to sweeping nail mines, Polda Metro Jaya has also prepared 4,730 joint personnel to oversee and secure the entire series of activities during Pope Francis' visit.

"The safety of Pope Francis and his followers is a top priority, and these security measures are the commitment of the Polda Metro Jaya to provide a safe environment for all involved in these activities," he said.

The steps that have been taken are not only an effort to ensure the safety of Pope Francis. But it also overcomes or reduces traffic disruption and ensures smooth event for all present.

"This is part of the integrated efforts of the Polda Metro Jaya, prioritizing security activities in a preemptive, preventive, and law enforcement manner," said Latif.

On the other hand, Latif also appealed to the public to avoid the area during activities and find alternative routes if necessary, and always maintain security and order.

"The goal is that Pope Francis' visit can run safely and in an orderly manner," said Latif.
