Involved In The Aragon MotoGP Incident, Alex Marquez Gives An Explanation About Lindas Bagnaia

JAKARTA - A terrible incident occurred between Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia at the 2024 Aragon MotoGP. Both were involved in a collision, but Alex Marquez admitted that he did not intend to run over Bagnaia.

The main MotoGP Aragon 2024 race takes place on Sunday, September 1, 2024, WIB night. Marc Marquez came out as champion, followed by Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta who completed the podium.

However, behind the victory celebration, Marc Marquez's younger brother, Alex Marquez, was involved in the incident during the race. On lap 12 at Turn 13, Alex and Bagnaia crashed.

At that time, Alex, who was in the lead in third place, was overtaken by Bagnaia from the outside. However, Bagnaia's position was too close so Alex couldn't overstep or brake. As a result, collisions are inevitable.

Alex Marquez was even seen running over Bagnaia shortly before the two slid into the Gravel. Alex admitted that he could not do anything and did not intend to do anything about it.

"I've been holding, my head held high, and felt contact while going straight," said Alex Marquez about the incident, quoted from Crash, Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

"However, I couldn't see anything in front of me," he said.

Alex Marquez admitted that it was difficult to avoid. Luckily for him, his condition was fine after the collision. He also explained about Bagnaia's position when the accident occurred.

"I had a collision on my left leg, but it was fine. I didn't expect Bagnaia to come because I didn't see it."

"He closed a lot of lines from the outside inside, then there was contact and we collided quickly."

"If you come from outside, you can't close the line. At least you have to give a distance. For me, if anyone can avoid that contact, it's him (Bagnaia)."

"The thing is, he knew I was there. I thought if he was so fast, he could overtake me in another situation," said Alex.
