Police Investigate Depok Detention Center Drug Prisoner Dies After Family Finds Stab Wound

The police are still investigating the case of a beating by prisoners at the Depok Class I Detention Center against the victim, a fellow detainee with the initials RAJS (26). The incident took place on Thursday, August 29 evening.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indardi, said that initially the family was informed by the Depok Detention Center that the victim RAJS was sick.

"It was given an explanation that the victim had stomach pain and decreased consciousness, but the family did not meet the victim," said Ade Ary in his statement, Sunday, September 1.

The family who did not meet the victim when reportedly sick later found information that RAJS had died.

"Then the victim's prison officer was taken to Primaya Hospital Cilodong and declared dead," continued Ade Ary.

Furthermore, the family who saw the condition of the victim at Primaya Hospital found a number of wounds on several parts of RAJS's body.

"The family found several parts of the victim's body with bruises, stab wounds to the chest, right abdomen and left back," he said.

Knowing this, said Ade Ary, the family reported it to the Sukmajaya Police. The goal is for further action.

"The perpetrator in the investigation," he said.
