Through Kitchen Of Asia, Bobby Nasution Brings A Message Of Peace With Culinary, Tjong A Fie's Character Becomes Inspiration

MEDAN - The Medan City Government in North Sumatra said that one of the characters of Tjong A Fie in building harmony between different ethnic cultures in the city of Medan is the spirit of realizing The Kitchen of Asia.

"The expression of "The kitchen of Asia" means a kitchen that is no longer closed, but becomes entertainment. This is expected in the future that each ethnic group will tell its culinary specialties," said the Mayor of Medan, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution.

To maintain diversity and harmony, he continued, one of them is by presenting culinary delights by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the old town area of Kesawan City Walk.

"I want to make Kesawan a cultural and culinary center, but still maintain the authenticity of the old city area," explained the son-in-law of President Joko Widodo.

Tjong A Fie is a successful businessman who has succeeded in building a plantation business empire in Sumatra. Not only successful but also far from gambling, drinking or prostitution.

The work of Tjong A Fie can be a role model in leadership. He often mediated in the event of quarrels between Chinese people and other ethnicities.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, when visiting the Kesawan area yesterday supported the realization of "The Kitchen of Asia" which is a priority program of the Medan City Government.

"I support "The Kitchen of Asia" to help economic growth in the city of Medan, but don't forget to stick to health protocols," he said.

He said that his party wanted to be involved in this priority program of the Medan City Government, both in terms of technological adaptation and the diversity of creative economy products.

"Because of the involvement of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, it is hoped that the MSMEs involved in it, the income can increase by 70 to 80 percent," said Sandiaga.
