Timah Corruption Trial, Harvey Moeis Represents 3 Cangkang Companies

JAKARTA - Former Director of Operations and Production of PT Timah Tbk, Agung Permana said that there were three shell companies that were deliberately created by private smelters in the tin logging processing processing cooperation program with PT Timah. All of them were represented by Harvey Moeis.

Agung made this statement when he was a witness in the trial of the alleged corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk for the 2015 to 2022 period.

It started when the judge investigated the real manifestation of the implementation of the tin logging processing equipment rental program between PT Timah and the private smelter from witness Agung.

Then, alluding to the matter of the program being carried out or only as a package for the purchase of tin ore.

Answering this question, Agung stated that lead ore from miners was purchased by partnership.

"In fact, how about renting a smelter or buying the tin ore, how about a try?" asked the judge during a trial at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Thursday, August 29.

"Smelters, tin ore from people's mines," said Agung.

"Then, who did the people's mines buy?" said the judge.

"There are partners," said Agung.

Agung said that the partner company that bought tin ore to miners had obtained a Work Order (SPK) from PT Timah.

The judge then asked the doll company or shell company founded by PT Refined Bangka Tin to purchase the tin ore.

"The image is CV or PT?" asked the judge.

"I don't know CV partners or PT Mulia, but there is a SPK from PT Timah," said Agung.

"The SPK is with CV or PT between PT Timah? Or I ask again, do you know the companies under RBT? I don't say affiliates, formed by RBT to buy tin ore from miners?" said the judge.

"There is Your Majesty, in my BAP (examination report)," answered Agung.

Agung also mentioned 3 shell companies founded by PT Refined Bangka Tin (PT RBT). All of them are represented by Harvey Moeis.

The three puppet companies are CV Bangka Karya Mandiri, CV Semar Jaya Perkasa and CV Belitung Makmur Sejahtera.

"That's RBT, sir," asked the judge to Agung to mention the company founded by PT RBT.

"CV Bangka Karya Mandiri, CV Semar Jaya Perkasa, CV Belitung Makmur Sejahtera, Your Majesty," answered Agung.

"How much is there?" asked the judge.

"Three, Your Majesty," replied Agung.

"The miner sold it to CV or PT?" asked the judge.

"To CV, Your Majesty," said Agung.

Harvey Moeis was charged with being involved in the alleged corruption of tin governance which caused a loss of Rp. 300 trillion.

In this case, Harvey Moeis was charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code and Article 3 of 2010 concerning Money Laundering.
