Suicide Bomb Explosion At Makassar Cathedral Church, 9 People Wounded

JAKARTA - The suicide bomb explosion at the Makassar Cathedral Church, South Sulawesi resulted in 9 injuries. The suicide bomber died on the spot.

"There are 9 people (namely) 5 church officers and 4 congregants being treated," said South Sulawesi Police Chief, Inspector General Merdisyam to reporters in Makassar, Sunday, March 28.

The bomb explosion was called the South Sulawesi Police Chief, which occurred at 10.35 a.m central Indonesia time. The bomb exploded at the front gate of the Makassar Cathedral on Kajaolalido Street, Ujung Pandang, Makassar.

"Meanwhile, the initial data we conveyed was the victim (killed) who was confirmed as the suicide bomber," Merdisyam continued.

The bomb exploded when the Palma mass at the Makassar Cathedral was over. The suicide bomber was prevented from entering by officers at the gate before the explosion finally occurred.
