Police Investigate Domestic Violence Case By Lecturer Who Is Also A Lawyer In Surabaya
Surabaya Police are investigating the alleged case of domestic violence (KDRT) with a private university lecturer who has a doctoral degree in law with the initials MH.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Surabaya Police, AKBPAris Purwanto, revealed that the reporter in this case was the victim with the initials S, the wife of the reported MH.
"Victim S admitted to being a victim of domestic violence by her husband for approximately 20 years. Is it true that he has been a victim of domestic violence for that long, we are still investigating," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 28.
Reporter S has submitted evidence of severe abuse by her husband against her, witnessed by her two children, as recorded by a CCTV camera installed in one of her home rooms.
"We have carried out reconstruction. Yesterday we also conducted a case title to go up to the investigation stage," said Purwanto.
The reported MH is also known as a religious figure. In addition, he works as a lawyer, as well as politicians who have participated in elections several times as legislative candidates through one of the political parties but have never been elected.

Regarding several professions that were held by the reported MH, Purwanto stated that he was still investigating his case.
Meanwhile, in this case, the police have examined three witnesses, including victim S and his two children who are teenagers. However, the police have not yet named a suspect against the reported MH.
"If there is progress on the results of the investigation, we will definitely convey it," he said.
