Drug Recidivist Circulates 707.29 Grams Of Shabu Arrested In Banjarbaru

SOUTH KALIMANTAN - Police arrested a recidivist who was caught red-handed circulating 707.29 grams of crystal methamphetamine and hundreds of ecstasy pills in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

"The suspect with the initials RN (29) was arrested on Jalan Dukuh Permai, Banjarbaru City on Friday (23 August) while making a narcotics sale transaction," said the Director of Drug Investigation at the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Pol. Kelana Jaya in Banjarmasin, Wednesday.

The disclosure of the drug business run by RN after the police received information from the public, then the team led by the Head of Sub-Directorate III of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police, AKBP Ade Harri Striawan, conducted an in-depth investigation by detecting RN's movements.

After the officers found out that RN was at his house, an ambush was finally carried out when the target was to leave the house with a drug ordered by a buyer who wanted to be delivered.

As a result, 3 packages of crystal methamphetamine and 68 pills of ecstasy and ecstasy powder were found in his bag, then the police continued to search the suspect's house and found 4 packages of crystal methamphetamine and 233 pills of ecstasy and 1 package of ecstasy powder stored in the kitchen cupboard.

Kelana said the suspect was controlled by cross-province networks that often supply narcotics by land in South Kalimantan, therefore the police needed time to investigate the case.

"The suspect's confession knew the dealer while languishing in prison, he was arrested by the Banjarbaru Police in a narcotics case in 2016 and released in 2023," he said.

Now, the suspect is threatened with re-entering Bui with the entanglement of Article 114 paragraph (2) Subs Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
