Hasto Says PDIP Will Directly Register Cagub-Cawagub Jakarta To KPUD

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said he would not announce his candidate for governor and deputy in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. The figure who is predicted to run will immediately register with the Jakarta KPUD.

"Immediately registered. Everything was immediately registered, because the announcement was number three, all of them were in the first wave, the second wave, the third wave. And everything yesterday was considered in the third wave so it was immediately registered," said Hasto to reporters at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, August 27.

"Not only Jakarta, continued Hasto, the candidates for governor and deputy who will be directly registered are East Java and West Java. "(This area, red) is eagerly awaited by the people," he said.

The registration for regional elections for all regions has been opened starting Tuesday, August 27 and closed on Thursday, August 29.

Meanwhile, regarding the name of the cagub and cawagub in Jakarta, Hasto did not want to elaborate further. He only made sure that the figure had been well prepared.

Hasto said, the finalization meeting with PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri had also been held for 2.5 hours. "So the question is not what is the name, the question has been prepared as well as possible. Because there is no more simultaneous announcements, the announcement will be made in their respective regions," he said.

Meanwhile, PDIP General Treasurer Olly Dondokambey said his party carried out Pramono Anung-Rano Karno as a candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of Jakarta. Registration to the Jakarta KPUD will be held on Wednesday afternoon, August 28.

"Mr. Pram will register at 11 o'clock at the KPU with Rano Karno," said PDIP General Treasurer Olly Dondokambey at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, August 27.

Previously reported, PDIP was widely heard that it would nominate Anies Baswedan as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. He is planned to duet Rano Karno, who is a cadre of the party made by Megawati Soekarnoputri.

However, Anies-Rano was not included in the candidate pair for regional head who received the recommendation and was announced on Monday, August 26. At that time, the party bearing the bull symbol only announced six candidates for governor and deputy as well as dozens of candidates for regent/mayor.

Among those announced were Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi who ran in the Central Java gubernatorial election and Airin Rachmi Diany-Ade Sumardi to run in the Banten gubernatorial election.

Even so, the PDIP DPP admitted that Anies had visited the PDIP DPP office on the sidelines of submitting recommendations for the support of the third wave of regional heads. The former governor of DKI Jakarta met Rano Karno at building B, PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
