Gibran Accelerates Revitalization Of Traditional Markets In Solo: Buy Rice, Chicken And Vegetables Cashless
SOLO - Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited Kadipolo Market which is located on Jl. Dr. Rajiman, Panularan, Surakarta City, Friday, March 26 yesterday. This visit is part of the routine activities of the Praja Mider; traveling around the country paying attention as well as mapping the problems faced by the people of Solo.
"At the Mider Praja activity this Friday morning, I visited Kadipolo Market to distribute CSR assistance in the form of supporting facilities for implementing health protocols as well as reviewing buying and selling activities that took place in traditional markets during the new normal era", said Gibran. Saturday, March 27th.
On this occasion, Gibran met and greeted the merchants directly. He saw that there was a willingness from the community to rise in the midst of an economic downturn due to COVID-19.
"The market is a very productive sector. Many previous cases have occurred in Solo, some markets have to be locked down because there are merchants who got infected with COVID-19, of course, this has an impact on the cessation of the economic cycle", Gibran explained.
Gibran wants to accelerate the revitalization of traditional markets so that the wheels of the economy will return to life. Moreover, merchants have received COVID-19 vaccinations. Apart from Kadipolo Market, revitalization has also taken place in several markets such as Kembang Market and Klewer Market.

Market revitalization is marked by the new habits of merchants. For example, implementing strict health protocols; orderly using face shields, masks, to application of maintaining distance when purchasing.
Most recently is the habit of using non-cash payments.
"The willingness of merchants and buyers to purchase cashless (non-cash) in traditional markets can certainly reduce transmission. Thank God, so far Kadipolo Market is ready to become a pilot market for the new normal era with the application of cashless payments", explained Gibran.
Netizens have also provided support for the market revitalization that was promoted by President Joko Widodo's eldest son. Some of them even asked how non-cash payments were made.
"How about cashless in traditional markets?" ask the @jackliner **** account in Gibran's comments column.
Unexpectedly, Gibran responded to this question and informed him that the buyer only needs to use the digital wallet application which is now widely used by the public.
"Pay with Ovo or Go Pay", replied Gibran.
Like a market in general, Kadipolo Market sells a variety of basic necessities. Starting from basic necessities such as rice, sugar, flour, chilies, fish, salt chicken to vegetables. One of the advantages of traditional markets is that they open up bargaining opportunities between traders and buyers.
