The U20 National Team Participated In A Tournament In South Korea, Indra Sjafri: Tests New Players And Tactics

JAKARTA - Indonesia U-20 National Team Coach Indra Sjafri revealed that his team participated in the Seoul Earth on Us Cup 2024 tournament while undergoing a training camp in South Korea to test players who had just entered as well as look for the best format.

The Seoul Earth on Us Cup will be held from August 28 to September 1. In the inaugural match, Indonesia will face Argentina on August 28, then against Thailand on August 30, and finally against the host South Korea.

"The target in this tournament, for sure we will do this three match to find our best format later in the U-20 Asian Cup (September) qualification, because there are several new players who enter, and we will try that later in this tournament," said the 61-year-old coach through PSSI's official website, Sunday.

"For that, in preparing the team for the tournament later, we will hold a match with the local team here, hopefully tomorrow it will be a simulation before the match against Argentina," he added.

Regarding the weather, since arriving in Seoul, South Korea on Wednesday (21/8), Indra said there was no difference with Indonesia.

"The weather is exactly the same as Indonesia, and of course for that reason too, yesterday's weather considerations, because it's not cold here, we took this tournament to be a trial for qualifying for the U-20 Asian Cup," said Indra.

Meanwhile, one of the players who took part in the TC, Toni Firmansyah expressed his enthusiasm.

"For today's training, we are certainly happy to enjoy training this morning, of course we are enthusiastic. The field is also quite good, good. The weather is also good. The focus of today's training is on endurance and adaptation," explained the Persebaya Surabaya player.

Talking about its target at the Seoul Earth on Us Cup later, the 19-year-old hopes to provide the best results.

"Preparing for the tournament, of course I am ready and able to show my best. My target is to play well and give the best results. I ask for support from my family and supporters so that we can give our best in the match later," he concluded.
