SEA V League 2024 Results: Indonesia Silences Vietnam 3-2

JAKARTA – The Indonesian Men's Volleyball National Team managed to stop Vietnam in the second match of the 2024 SEA V League Yogyakarta series. Indonesia won with a dramatic score of 3-2 (25-22, 28-30, 22-25, 25-16, 15-13) at the Yogyakarta State University Sports Center (GOR), on Saturday, August 24 evening Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

"The coach managed to put together the team well. Even though we won by a narrow margin, we give high appreciation to all the players," said Indonesian National Team Manager Zulfarshah after the match.

This victory gives Indonesia a big chance to become champions in the second series of the 2024 SEA V League. With the note, Li Qiujiang's squad must win in the last match tomorrow.

Previously in the first series, Indonesia failed to meet the target of a hat-trick of titles. At that time, the Qiujiang team finished as runners-up after losing once and winning twice.

Zulfarshah said that the result against Vietnam made Indonesia much more prepared to face Thailand and at the same time take revenge from the first series.

"This victory is valuable capital for tomorrow's match against Thailand," he said.

Indonesia will play the last match against Thailand in this second series on Sunday, August 25 tomorrow at 19.00 p.m. WIB. Meanwhile, Vietnam will meet the Philippines in the evening at 16.00 p.m. WIB.

Thailand is a tough opponent who previously stopped the Garuda squad in the first series in Manila, Philippines, last week. At that time, Garuda was crushed with a landslide score of 3-0.

Indonesia is likely to return to fielding the names Dio Zulfikri, Hendra Kurniawan, Agil Angga, Yudha Mardiansyah, Rendy Tamamilang, and libero Prasojo, at the start of the match against Thailand later.
