The KPK Ensures That Cak Imin's Call Is Not Related To The PKB And Pilkada Congress
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the summons of the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (PDTT) Abdul Halim Iskandar was not related to political events. Anyone whose information is needed will definitely be summoned.
This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika when asked about Abdul Halim's summons on Thursday. This examination was carried out ahead of the National Awakening Party (PKB) congress which was held on August 24-25.
"I explained to my friends that the summoning of witnesses was not based on a political framework," Tessa told reporters, Friday, August 23.
Tessa also said that the summoning of the brother of the General Chairperson of the PKB Muhaimin Iskandar as a witness was not related to the 2024 Pilkada. "KPK, especially non-political investigators," he said.
"If he wants to come from any ethnicity, any age, from any group, including any party, if the information is needed, he will certainly be summoned," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Previously reported, the KPK summoned Abdul Halim Iskandar as a witness to the alleged bribery of grant funds to community groups from the East Java Provincial Government Budget in 2019-2022. He was summoned not in his capacity as the former chairman of the East Java DPRD but as Mendes PDTT.
As for this case, the anti-corruption commission has named 21 new suspects. This effort is the development of the case that ensnared the former Deputy Chairperson of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua P. Simanjuntak.
Investigators in this case have searched the office of the East Java Provincial Government (Jatim) some time ago. As a result, documents and electronic goods have been confiscated regarding the alleged bribery case of grant funds.
