Legislators Appreciate Social Security Protection For Workers, Encourage All Stakeholders To Provide Support

JAKARTA - BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (BPJamsostek) Cilincing Branch handed over death insurance (JKM) compensation to the heirs of the late Muslihah, RW 09 Rawa Badak Utara device, Koja, North Jakarta, who died from illness.

Symbolically, the compensation of Rp42 million was handed over by the Head of BPJamsostek Cilincing Haryani Rotua Melasari along with a member of Commission XI DPR RI Dian Istiqomah to Suryadi, as the heir of the deceased Muslihah, during socialization activities.

"We express our condolences for the death of the deceased as a regional apparatus in Rawa Badak Utara Village, hopefully the compensation can be beneficial for the families left behind," said Haryani Rotua Melasari, in a written statement, Thursday, August 22.

Member of Commission XI DPR RI Dian Istiqomah on the occasion said that the benefits of compensation provided are proof of the presence of the State providing protection to workers and their families.

For this reason, Dian assessed that the Employment Social Security Protection program must get support from all stakeholders ranging from executive to legislative.

"This social security protection is the right of all workers, both formal and informal, as protection of all risks of work that have the potential to emerge in the future," said Dian.

According to Dian, the protection of BPJS Performance will create a sense of calm and security not only for workers but also for families.

Furthermore, Haryani Rotua Melasari added, the socialization activities carried out this time were aimed at realizing or educating workers, especially informal workers regarding the importance of Employment Social Security.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan now has 5 programs, namely Death Security (JKM), Work Accident Insurance (JKK), Old Age Security (JHT), Pension Security (JP) and Job Loss Guarantee (JKP).
