Seriously! Suspected 42 Women's Serial Killer In Kenya Escapes Police Station Detention

JAKARTA - A man arrested for the serial murder of 42 women escaped police custody in Kenya's capital, Nairobi.

Collins Jumaisi was arrested last month in connection with the discovery of six bodies wrapped in plastic bags at the Kware mine, which is now being used as a landfill.

He escaped from the Gigiri police station along with 12 Eritrean nationals, police spokesman Resila Onyango said.

Police said Jumaisi admitted to killing 42 women including his wife. But his lawyer told the court his client was tortured to make a confession. Prosecutors deny Jumaisi was persecuted.

Jumaisi previously admitted to killing 42 women and throwing their bodies at the mine, Mohamed said. The murder took place in 2022, starting with Jumaisi's wife, and the last one occurred on July 11, Mohamed said in a televised statement.

At Jumaisi's house, the police found several cell phones, identity cards, sharp weapons used to cut victims, industrial rubber gloves, rolls and a dozen nylon sacks similar to where the victim was found.
