Constitutional Court Decision Opens PDIP Opportunities For Anies Candidate, Ridwan Kamil: I Have No Problem
JAKARTA - As a candidate for governor of Jakarta, Ridwan Kamil admitted that there would be no problem if PDIP brought Anies Baswedan as a candidate for governor of Jakarta after the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which changed the threshold rules for nominating regional heads in the regional elections.
Ridwan Kamil stated that he is ready to compete regardless of the pair of candidates who will compete in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. According to him, the Constitutional Court's decision is something that must be undertaken.
"I don't have a problem, because with a lot, even a little, as long as it's according to the rules, of course it must be acted on," said Ridwan Kamil at JCC, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 20.
The former governor of West Java also reviewed his experience as he advanced in the Bandung Pilkada and West Java Pilgub. He is optimistic that his success in the last Pilkada will be repeated in the upcoming Jakarta Pilkada.
"When the Mayor of Bandung, I installed 8 pairs, there were a lot of independences as well. During the West Java governor election, there were also no problems," said the man who is familiarly called RK.
Previously, PDI-P DPP chairman Said Abdullah said his party was still working on Anies Baswedan and former Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi to advance to the Jakarta Governor's Office.

But Said said that if the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus was strongly consolidated, his party would convey to the people that they could not carry someone.
"We are still trying in such a way with other parties as much as possible before the 27th. We are looking for opportunities. If we get the opportunity, we will take Anies as the first person and Hendi (Hendrar Prihadi) as the second person," said Said.
