Explosion Occurs At Russian Steratamak Petrochemical Factory, 3 Injured

JAKARTA - Explosions and fires occurred in a fuel pipeline at the Sterlimatamak petrochemical factory in Russia's Bashkiria region in eastern Moscow. The fire left three people injured.

Videos uploaded on social media show firefighters trying to contain the blaze that according to emergency services has been successfully extinguished. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Reported by Reuters on Monday, August 19, the factory, located 1,500 km (930 miles) east of Moscow, produces rubber and high-octane extra materials for fuel and jet fuel.

The Interfax news agency, citing local officials, said production at the plant was not disrupted by the fire.
