Restless With The PBNU-PKB Conflict, Yenny Wahid Hopes The Role Of Vice President Ma'ruf To Be Intermediate
JAKARTA - Yenny Wahid, daughter of the 4th president of the Republic of Indonesia KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), hopes for a 'hand' from Vice President Ma'ruf Amin so that he can mediate a conflict between the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board and the National Awakening Party (PKB)."Kiai Ma'ruf Amin can take a big role in inviting the senior kiai ma'am to take an elderly seat together. Invite all parties Gus Yahya, Cak Imin, and Gus Saiful to sit down together, then what is this common interest," said Yenny after meeting with Ma'ruf at the vice president's official residence, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, August 19.Gus Yahya or Yahya Cholil Staquf are the General Chair of PBNU, Gus Saiful or Saifullah Yusuf are the Secretary General of PBNU, and Cak Imin or Muhaimin Iskandar is the General Chair of PKB.Yenny also admitted that she was worried about the current condition between PBNU and PKB. He and the Vice President agreed that the existence of PBNU and PKB was a blessing for Indonesia so they must be jointly guarded. For this reason, he asked the Vice President as an elder of NU to invite PBNU and PKB to mediate together in order to create an independent dialogue process."This is to rule out the possibility of external influences which can then have a long impact on NU's own benefit," said Yenny. Moreover, he continued, PBNU and PKB are institutions that were established to carry the values of benefit in the community."NU is a community organization that must fight for the benefit of the community. PKB itself must also fight to ensure that public policy is a policy intended for the good of society. So, both are blessings for Indonesia, must be maintained," said Yenny.Previously, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin expressed his willingness to mediate in the conflict between PBNU and PKB. This was stated by the Vice President in his press statement after reviewing the Ku Museum of Timbul Raharjo Kasongan, Kajen, Bangunjiwo, Kasihan District, Bantul Regency, DI Yogyakarta, Wednesday (7/8)."If their wish for me is to be asked as a person who denies, sincerely reconciles, I am very willing," said the Vice President
According to the Vice President, reconciling the two warring parties is a religious order, especially that he is one of the founders of PKB and has also been active in PBNU.
