JAKARTA - Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Supratman Andi Agtas has two months left before the cabinet ends in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
Supratman believes that this period of time is sufficient to complete tasks at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham). "So, what we can do is complete, which cannot be done yet, yes, we hope that in the upcoming government it can be continued," said Supratman when met at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, August 19. So far, he continued, there are still many government tasks assigned to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, especially the discussion of laws. In addition, there are still many laws that need to be harmonized related to legal administration. According to him, the field of immigration and corrections still requires improvements. The improvements need to be controlled so that the tasks are able to be resolved. "So, those problems may be a priority to be resolved immediately," said the former chairman of the Legislation Body of the DPR RI. He admitted that he had submitted his resignation as a member of the DPR a week ago after hearing the news that he would become Minister of Law and Human Rights. However, the certainty of the news was only received on Monday morning. "Imagine, at dawn at 04.00 I just knew that I would be sworn in today," said the Gerindra Party politician.
