Asking The People To Be Given The Right To Vote, Megawati: Not Forced To Find A Leader Who Has Not Been Accompanied

JAKARTA - PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri talked about the people's right to vote in general elections (elections) including regional elections.

This was conveyed by Megawati in reading the mandate of the supervisor of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the At-Taufiq Mosque courtyard located in front of the PDIP DPP Party School, Jalan Lenteng Agung Raya, South Jakarta.

"Give the people the right to be able to find the real leader for them is a true leader. Not looking for or forced to find a leader who in fact does not have a cadre as a capable leader," said Megawati, Saturday, August 17.

The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized that elections are a forum to ensure that the people can exercise their rights properly. However, he sees that the current election has deviated from the slogan.

"I can't imagine that the election that was said to be the last general election was 'Luber', live, public, free, confidential, with all the slogans, but not a reality," said Megawati.

On that occasion, Megawati also revealed that now there are efforts to distort history through power. In fact, the constitution can be changed arbitrarily.

"Constitution which should be the main basis for leaders and all Indonesian people to be carried out in as straight a way as possible, turns out that the direction can be deflected arbitrarily," he said.

Megawati said that the law in Indonesia, which supports the sovereignty of the people, is currently being tried with the sovereignty of power. And, the law is shifted by its meaning from true justice to intimidation.

"Legal products are also full of procedural legality without legal philosophy and their use for the benefit of the people. All these efforts run systematically with the packaging of their characters that seem popular," explained Megawati.

The most concerning thing, for Megawati, is when people's sovereignty as the main pillar of democracy is now changed in character and many have fears in their lives.

"It seems that many people can't speak the truth, their mouths are locked, their mouths are silent," added the daughter of President Soekarno.
