The NIK Case Is Used To Support Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, Polda Metro Asks People To Report

The police asked the public to report the alleged profiteering of the population identification number (NIK) for the benefit of registering independent candidates in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) contestation.

The allegation of profiteering of personal identity cards is in the spotlight. Many DKI Jakarta residents whose population identification number (NIK) is used to support Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana.

"Polda Metro Jaya communicates with stakeholders, cooperates, please if anyone feels aggrieved (to) make a report to the relevant agencies. If someone is criminally harmed, they can make a police report to Polda Metro Jaya," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Friday, August 16.

With an official report, it will form the basis for the police to investigate the alleged profiteering.

In addition, Ade also asked the public to be more careful when using personal data. This is because potential abuse can occur which causes losses.

"Be careful that personal data is not given carelessly, it's called personal data, don't give it carelessly and for the misuse of other people's personal data holders and if it is harmed, of course it will be investigated and investigated by the ranks of the Polda Metro Jaya," said Ade.

Previously, a number of residents admitted that they did not accept their NIK as supporters of Dharma-Kun. This was revealed on social media after they checked their NIK on the page www.infopemilu.kpu.go.id/voting/check_supporter.

In fact, former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that his family and relatives were also used by his NIK as supporters of Dharma-Kun. In fact, they were never asked to support the individual path pair. Also, never handing over his ID card as a form of support to the Dharma-Kun Wardana team.

"Alhamdulillah, my ID card is safe. But the ID cards of two children, younger siblings, as well as some of the teams working together were also included in the list of supporters of independent candidates," explained Anies in the account X @aniesbaswedan.
