Allegations Of LPEI Corruption Delegated By The Attorney General's Office To The KPK

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has officially delegated allegations of corruption in the provision of credit facilities for the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). A coordination meeting has been held today, Thursday, August 15.

"So that overlapping does not occur in the Attorney General's Office, it is delegated to the KPK to be followed up," said KPK's Director of Korsup Region II Imam Turmudi at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 15.

Imam said this case was also handled by the Attorney General's Office. Thus, it has been agreed at the meeting that the alleged corruption of LPEI will be handled by the KPK.

Meanwhile, the Director of Investigation (Dirdik) of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office Kuntadi said the submission of the alleged corruption case was a synergy. In addition, the anti-corruption commission is also wider in carrying out investigations.

The Attorney General's Office has received reports of this alleged corruption since 18 March. Four companies from the Ministry of Finance are suspected of being involved based on their investigation.

"So we agreed, for the efficiency of the handling today we agreed to further handle the KPK," he said.

In this coordination meeting, Kuntadi said that his party had submitted a number of files. Among them are the investigation report (BAP) and other supporting documents to the KPK.

Previously reported, the KPK named seven suspects in a corruption case in the provision of credit facilities from the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI). Of these, there are state officials and the private sector who are entangled. In addition, the anti-corruption commission also asked the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent seven people from leaving the country for six months. This request is based on Decree Number 981 of 2024.
