The police arrested three residents of Mande Subdistrict, Cianjur, who were the perpetrators of the theft with weights acting in Cianjur. The perpetrators had the initials RN and MJ and DYG who were husband and wife (couple).

Head of Cianjur Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Rahmat Yongky Dilatha, said the modus operandi of this gang of robbers was to trap the victim into a hotel room. Furthermore, DYG acted as interim bait for her husband MJ and his colleague TN acting as executors.

"The arrest of the husband and wife of the perpetrator of the robbery began with the victim's report because previously the victim met DYG and invited the victim to rent a hotel room," said the Police Chief when releasing the disclosure of the case in Cianjur, Wednesday, August 14, which was confiscated by Antara.

While in the room, DYG and RN colleagues broke in and threatened the victim to leave his motorbike or reported it to the police.

The victim, who did not want the case to be extended, left his motorbike which was immediately taken away by the perpetrators.

This action has been carried out several times by the husband and wife in the Cianjur area so that officers were immediately deployed to arrest him.

"The perpetrator caught the victim on the side of the road and asked him to open a room at the inn or hotel, after a few minutes of entering the room, the other perpetrator came and threatened the victim and took the victim's motorbike," he said.

From the hands of the police perpetrators confiscated evidence of 10 units of motorcycles of various brands and types.

According to him, the case is still being investigated by the Cianjur Police to uncover other reported cases with almost the same mode of the police.

"The three perpetrators will be charged with Article 365 Paragraph 1 and Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence with the threat of imprisonment for 12 years," he said.

The police chief appealed to residents, especially motorized vehicle users, to further increase caution and vigilance to avoid acts of violence or street crime.

"Immediately report if you find suspicious activities to be prosecuted by officers," he said.
