3 Thousand Residents Affected By Fire In Manggarai, Tebet Sub-district Head Make Sure There Are No Casualties

JAKARTA - As many as 3,000 residents from three RWs in Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta were affected by a severe fire. The fire incident was reported to have occurred on Tuesday morning, August 13, at 02.30 WIB.

Tebet sub-district head, Dyan Airlangga, when confirmed, explained that the impact of this fire was very wide.

"Earlier there were approximately 3000 people affected," said Dyan Airlangga, Tuesday, August 13.

Dyan said that until now there had been no reports of casualties in the incident.

"So far there have been no reports of casualties," he said.

However, the large area of fire that devoured hundreds of houses did not have an impact on Manggarai Station, which is located not far from the hotspot.

"My communication with the head of Manggarai Station is not constrained. It's safe," he said.

A total of 15 RTs were affected by the fire on Jalan Remaja 5, Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta. The cause is suspected to be a charger cellphone from one of the residents' houses.

"The statement is from a cellphone charger. According to information from Mr. Sukiman, the head of RT 02 RW 06," explained South Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. Syamsul Huda when confirmed, Tuesday, August 13.
