American Foreigner Dies Drowning In Karangasem
DENPASAR - Karangasem Resort Police (Polres), Bali, said a foreign national (WNA) from the United States named Sebastiano (23) who was found dead on the shores of Villa Kajane Beach, Baturinggit Village, Kubu District, Karangasem, Bali (10/8) was suspected of drowning.
"The victim allegedly drowned while carrying out water tourism. The victim was found dead on the beach," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Karangasem Police, Iptu I Gede Sukadana, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 12.
The victim who was born in California on December 31, 2001 was found dead at 15.20 WITA. The victim, who was staying in the area around the crime scene, was initially known to have left without notification to the hotel clerk.
Sukadana explained that when officers found out that guests were not in the villa, they searched the beach and saw someone face down on the beach. After his body was turned back, the witness who saw it knew it was one of their guests at the hotel.
The witnesses, workers at the villa immediately took the victim to the beach and reported the incident to the police and local health workers. Witnesses at the location tried to help by giving artificial breath, but the victim did not react.
"Furthermore, the medical authorities came from the Kubu Husada Clinic to carry out an external examination by dr. I Komang Switra and it was stated that the victim was not breathing and there was no pulse," said Sukadana.

The victim's body was then evacuated and deposited in the morgue of the Karangasem Hospital, Bali.
When found, the police also found diving glasses and other snorkeling equipment. "There were no injuries or signs of violence on the victim's body," he said.
Until now, the police are waiting for the victim's family to proceed further. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death of the American foreigner.
